HSTA’S 2014 PRIMARY ELECTION RECOMMENDATIONS
Teacher-recommend candidates
The Hawaii State Teachers Association is pleased to announce its recommended candidates for the August 9, 2014 Primary Election.
After much deliberation, teachers are recommending candidates we believe can make a positive difference for Hawaii’s public school students, teachers, and schools.
Candidates seeking HSTA’s recommendations are invited to go through the elections recommendation process. Through this process, teachers on the Government Relations Committee spend many hours reviewing candidate questionnaires, positions, and backgrounds as well as conducting interviews with candidates on issues closely aligned with our values, teachers, and public education. The committee’s final recommendations are sent to the teachers on HSTA’s Board of Directors for final approval.
We believe this list of recommended candidates represents individuals who share teachers’ commitment to student achievement.
