EES September Survey

Aloha Colleagues,

Please take a moment to complete this short survey on the progress of the Educator Effectiveness System (EES), teacher evaluation system. The data you provide is important because it will allow the members of the Joint Committee to review the design, validity, and reliability of the EES.  This is the best opportunity to date for teachers to be part of the input process.  All HSTA members are encouraged to take the survey in order to help improve EES.

The work of the Joint Committee is a year-long process.  We plan to gather data using a variety of modalities throughout the year.  Your HSTA Faculty Representative should be holding monthly meetings in your building or conducting regular polling.  Please continue to watch for other ways that you can give feedback on the EES.

For now, please consider the importance of this September survey and make your voice count.

Responses to these survey questions will provide critical teacher input needed to improve the teacher evaluation system.

The September survey will be open from 9/5/13 to 9/15/13.  To take the survey, please go to the link below:

We appreciate your time.

Mahalo,
HSTA Joint Committee

As you are aware, the Department of Education (DOE) started the statewide implementation of the Educator Effectiveness System (EES).

The ratified contract points out that the DOE agreed to have items for the EES accomplished by August 31, 2013. Among those items are an orientation on the tool to be used, a copy of the manual to be used, and additional training on the evaluation system.

Your new contract also required a “Joint Committee,” to be formed by equal members of the DOE and HSTA. The HSTA’s side is comprised of three teachers and an HSTA staff member. The DOE’s side is comprised of the Deputy Superintendent, a Complex Area Superintendent, a principal, and a DOE staff member.
