Aloha Colleagues,

Our 2013 Teacher Institute Committee is working hard to prepare a wonderful Institute Day for all of our classroom teachers, librarians, registrars, SACs, SSCs, academic coaches, resource teachers, counselors in our bargaining unit.  A schedule is listed below.  We will continue to update information about the programs at the various sites as more details are confirmed.  It takes a lot of work to prepare these events so I want to personally thank all of our Vice Presidents who are in charge of their Institutes.

The theme is “HSTA Leading the Way.”  Joining me in a rotation of keynote speakers at locations around the state are:  Princess Moss of the NEA Executive Committee; Vice President Joan Kamila Lewis; Secretary- Treasurer Colleen Pasco; Executive Director Al Nagasako; and, Deputy Executive Director Stacy Nishina.  Each Institute has its own home grown personality with variations in workshops and exhibiters.  All Institutes will provide opportunities for networking, a look at our Association’s Three Priorities, and, workshops and presentations to provide you with tools to use with your students.  Please watch our Web site with updates as we confirm plans.

We look forward to seeing all of you at Institute.

Mahalo,
Wil Okabe
President
